Forbidden Love

The Forbidden Love an expression that refers to any kind of love that defies all kinds of taboos and barriers whether Social ,Economic, political and religious especially in the East , not the middle Arabic Islamic East but the East as general. Same thing for the south , any south even in Europe , for example South Italy or Spain. The places of all love tragedies aka Forbidden Love

Anyway I want to use your imagination for a while

We are in the East, the southern East specifically There is a girl , a young girl her age is exactly 22 years old who suddenly disappears from her house , no one knows anything about her from her family , I guess any family in East or West or even Mars will be panic. After a while it turned out that this young lady run away with her lover to marry in a place away from her family , normally this means the lover will be refused , these two acts in general "The escape and marriage without family's permission" cause a great anger that may reach to killing and murder the girl and her lover.I believe these acts also can cause anger for the western families too ,of course it won't reach to the blood level. But still it is not something to be forgiven easily

Now let's again imagine

The same girl

A girl escapes in the south with her lover to get marry without the knowledge of her family , already as I said this girl is 22 years old while her lover is 38 years old and already married and got children !! I don't know but I don't respect this girl or this man or whatever between them ,that is called Love while Love is innocent from them . her age 22 makes her a responsible adult person who understands the consequences of her decision and to be accountable for it !!

Now to make the story more and more complicated just like in movies , it is even worst , it is even worst than Romeo and Juliet , Romeo and Juliet are saints ,anyway

Let's imagine again

A girl escapes in the south ...........OK you know this part of the story , I will add to it that the girl is from a religion and the man is from another religion , more complicated right , the man can marry from another religions according to his religion but the girl can't

Difficult is n't it ? causing more trouble if we take in consideration that the Eastern Southerns are usually more religious and more attached to their tradition concerning marriage from their own religious sect

You can imagine the anger of the girl's family , now to make the story much more complicated then before the girl and her lover are from small village in one of the country side southern towns , and unfortunately the relationships between the people of the girl's religion and her lover's religion people is in some sort of tension as the girl's people think that their girls are abducted and brainwashed to convert to the other religion through marriage .

OK enough imagination , I guess you understand what I am talking I am talking about the young Catholic Christian 22 years old Mona who suddenly disappeared from her village in Fayoum State , the first Upper Egyptian towns , then suddenly she appeared again as a married person to her lover ,Khalid 38 years old who is already married , got children and is a Muslim !! Of course the Christian people got angry again and some of them said it is a conspiracy on a large scale to deceive Christian girls to fall in love with Muslim boys to make them convert their religion and the INTERNET radical Coptic sites began to make a campaign against the Muslim majority and the regime to the rest of oppression talk . Newspapers in Egypt of course the unofficial ones are speaking about Mona also TV channel ,also the unofficial ones , the private channels which are aired through Nile Sat and need a satellite dish and receiver . What made things be worst than they were , the girl appeared in a recorded video ,as it is in the fashion nowadays , the girl appeared and she looked troubled as she were forced on something she doesn't want . Of course her family and also the other Christians who saw the video in one of the TV channels ,I don't know really which one , got this feeling that she was forced on something she doesn't want and that is in their thinking marrying a Muslim and convert to Islam , not that only the Police reached out to the place where the girl and her lover who is her husband now are in , the Police forces asked her if she wants to meet members from her family or her church who are already requested to meet with her ,but as I told you Mona is refusing.

Already yesterday she spoke on the phone with very low voice that makes anyone feel that she is in danger and being forced on something but then she said that she wasn't forced and she was afraid from family and so , even me I suspected that she was under some force but what made believe other wise that she escaped with her lover or husband willingly is that Mona El-Shazely, the famous TV host spoke with her on the phone earlier and she was convinced that no one forced Mona to do what she did

Now just few remarks , Mona is from the Catholic sect , and this is the first time something like this happens in the Catholic sect , usually it happens in the Coptic sect, of course there were protests in Mona's Catholic church in El-Fayoum with demands of international rescue !! Also and this is the most important remark Mona is still Christian !! As her husband said

Now I gave all the news it is my turn to comment

Damn Mona , Damn Khalid and Damn this kind of love that would bring a civil war to the country , with my all respect to Mona's family , I don't care for the religion difference but you didn't raise your daughter well for the following reasons

  1. You didn't teach her that it is not acceptable to love from another religion .
  2. You didn't teach her that she shouldn't love someone who is older than her "more than 10 years difference"
  3. You didn't teach her that she shouldn't love someone who is married and got children from another woman
  4. You didn't teach her that she shouldn't escape with her lover

With all respect this runaway act is not  the act  of well brought up girls , call me stone age girl , call conservative but I am an Eastern and look what this act brought not only to her from fear but from a whole noise to the whole country . Islam doesn't need another person ,so we the Muslim don't need this organized secret groups to abduct Christian girls to convert them to our religion

Egypt is in the worst conditions ever from threats and the New Middle East includes a divided Egypt between Muslims ,Christian and Nubians !!

Technorati : , , , , , , , ,

  1. Let me comment on your comments, if you dun mind.

"You didn't teach her that it is not acceptable to love from another religion."
I disagree with you, because if their religion doesn't forbid interreligious marriage, then they are not supposed to (teach her that it is not acceptable to love from another religion) as you said earlier.
I tried to see the Catholic point of view regarding interreligious marriage, and I found the following paragraph here:
"As regards marriage with an infidel, the early Church did not consider such unions invalid, especially when a person had been converted to the faith after such marriage. It was hoped that the converted wife or husband would be the means of bringing the other party to the knowledge of the true faith, or at least safeguarding the Catholic upbringing of the children of the union. This held even for Jews, though the Church was naturally more opposed to wedlock between them and Christians, even than with pagans, owing to the intense Jewish hatred for the sacred name of Christ. By degrees, however, the objection to a marriage between a Catholic and an infidel grew stronger as the necessity for such unions decreased, and so in the course of time, more by custom than by positive enactment, the impediment of disparitas cultus making such marriages null and void began to have force", Mixed Marriage
It's really complicated, but it seems that they allowed it at the beginning, then they started to put some restrictions on it later on.
Also it is hard for people to choose whome to love and whome not to love, it's just a human feeling that we don't control easily.

"You didn't teach her that she should love someone who is older than her more than 10 years difference"
Hmmm, I dun think 10 years is that huge age gap, also age difference is not that important as long as the bride and the groom agree on it. Parents have the right to refuse a marriages for of many reasons, but I don't think age difference is one of them.

"You didn't teach her that she should love someone who is married and got children from another woman"
I myself don't think polygamy is a good thing, especially in the current time and for social and financial reasons. But let's face it as long as the groom's religion is not against polygamy, and the bride agrees on the marriage, although she knows that he has another wife, then I don't think it's anyones righ to be against their choice.

"You didn't teach her that she should escape with her lovers"
Finally, I agree with you on this.

  2. By the way, I am really pissed off of that repeated movie we see every now and then here.
A Christian girl marries a Muslim guy, then Christians claim that they guy has kidnapped her, and Muslims claim that she has been converted by her own will. And no one knows where the truth is.
What is the point of such kind of news, especially that the media likes it so much.

  3. This is the first time I go totally the opposite direction.
It’s not forbidden love dear Z. if ur father or mother don’t agree, it doesn’t make it wrong. And if I was that girl and my family was stupid enough to prevent me from such a thing that I should decide on my own, well the hell with them. It’s my life!
And about u saying – and so Mona El-Shazly - this love is bringing a civil war or something like it. Well it’s not because of Mona & Khalid. It’s because people like Mona El-Shazly herself r bringing this very private act into screen yelling this is NOT RIGHT!? I don’t c why should people stop their life just because TV is putting the nose here & there? And why would something like that be a problem? U will come to find that there is a problem already inside everybody’s heart. But we dear Z, r choosing to blame the couple for doing the only right thing in this whole play. They believed in each other, the put aside their religious differences and they chosen each other.
    Do u agree with me?

  4. @green data ,very interesting point concerning the mixed interreligious marriage in Catholic
about ploygamy in our social culture or at least in our middle Class ,it is not preferred than a young girl marries a married man , you know the common expression "She took him from his wife and kids' but as you said she doesn't see it as a wrong thing

and yes I am so pissed too

@Nuri ,it is not MOna El-Shazely the one who will start a civil war , it is protests in the churches and the claims of the so-called immigrant christians abroad, look to what is written in Copt united and you know what I mean that this is a forbidden love ,this time I can't agree , yes my religion gives the man the ability to marry from other religion but to use this liscense wisely ,you know in a country like Lebanon this is common , Ghassan Ben Gaddo famous Al-jazeera reporter ,his mom is christian and his dad is a sunni muslim , this is in normal countries but not in countries with religious tensions in Egypt

  5. @Zeinab, I am with you about polygamy, but as long as it is allowed religiously then no one can deny other's right to do it.
